Reuben Raphael Joseph read law at the University of Liverpool, UK. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2019. Prior to joining Lavania & Balan Chambers, Reuben completed his pupillage at Chooi & Company + Cheang & Ariff and thereafter practised as a legal associate at Cheah Teh & Su for 2 years. He then had a brief stint as an in-house counsel at one of the largest recruitment companies in Asia Pacific.

Reuben’s primary area of practice is in construction law. He regularly represents clients in construction disputes in arbitration, litigation, and statutory adjudication. He also advises clients on contract administration and management.

In addition to construction law, Reuben also represents clients in commercial and general litigation.

Reuben has conducted hearings and trials in the High Court and has assisted as junior counsel in hearings in the appellate courts.
